PressPass is a micro-surveys and identity service operated by Narratiive Audience Measurement Pty Ltd (“us”, “we”, “our” and related group companies or affiliates) and offered to publishers, enabling them to engage in a value exchange relationship with you, by granting time-based access to selected premium content, for information provided with explicit consent.

This policy describes the data and information practices adopted to support PressPass and its functionalities, reiterating our commitment to protecting user privacy, providing disclosure on the information collected and how it is used, along with resources for its management. Customers using PressPass cover their respective use, management and disclosure of information in their own policies.

Narratiive acts in compliance with regional privacy laws and configures as a Joint Controller and Data Processor under the definitions of the Data Protection Act 2018 or applicable legislation that supersede or replace it.

The terms covered in this policy will be reviewed from time to time in order to reflect new legal and technical requirements to meet industry standards.

Use by clients

We ask each of our clients to abide by all applicable laws, rules and regulations, as we promise our clients that we will do it ourselves. We also recommend that each client obtains all necessary consent from visitors to its websites and apps, making available online a privacy policy that provides each visitor with notice of its data collection and use practices (including the client’s use of PressPass), and linking to this policy as well.

Collected information

PressPass uses wide commonly adopted technologies to collect and process information.

Pixels and Web beacons

JavaScript code lines and snippets, transparent images or iFrames.

Probabilistic identifiers

Method of device identification based on the conjunction of certain characteristics – such as IP address hashes and screen resolution – that can reasonably be inferred as unique in an aggregation.


Small text files that receive and store strings of characters coming from computers, phones, tablets and other connected devices to identify specific internet browsers.

Non-cookie-based identifiers

Other types of identifiers, such as the ones stored on web browsers cache, local storage and identifiers associated with specific devices.


Online forms are made available to you, once accessing specific pages on websites with PressPass enabled by the respective publisher or site owner.

Hashed identifiers

Result of processes that convert identifiable information such as email addresses and phone numbers, into an encrypted, anonymized, non-reversible version of it.

Emails and phone numbers

Information is provided with an additional request for permission and consent through web forms with clickwraps (unticked checkboxes or buttons).

To enable the value exchange with publishers and provide an alternative to access selected premium content, PressPass needs to process and store information about you and your devices.

PressPass stands for drastic improvements on industry standards in privacy and consent, therefore information sharing only happens with other parties that have a clear established relationship with the user:


Entities who own sites and apps where you have demonstrated, consented and interacted with PressPass.

Brands, Advertisers and Marketers

Entities who commissioned commercial surveys through PressPass.

Advertising and Marketing Technology providers

Third parties operating with expressed authorization from publishers such as Ad Servers, Data Management Platforms (DMPs), Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), Demand Side Platforms (DSPs), Supply Side Platforms (SSPs), Ad Networks, Email Marketing, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, Web Analytics platforms and other similar technologies.

Other Technology providers

Third parties operating with expressed authorization from publishers such as hosting, infrastructure, Content Management Systems (CMSs) and other similar technologies.

We may also disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary in connection with a sale, merger, transfer, exchange or other disposition (whether of assets, stock or otherwise) of all or a portion of our business and/or the business of our subsidiaries or to:

(1) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process served on us

(2) protect and defend our rights and property

(3) enforce our agreements with you (4) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety or the public

Information transfer

Information collected by us and our partners may be stored and processed in countries different to its origin following the applicable items of this policy.

These transfers help to improve the quality of our services and do not differ on the protection levels offered to your information, as we use standard contract clauses globally. It is important to note though, that information transmitted using the internet still offers risks, therefore by the terms on this policy, you acknowledge and agree that incidents resulting in unauthorized use or handling of your information, shall not be deemed our responsibility beyond the extent we are required to accept by applicable law.

Personal Identifiable Information (PII)

Personal Identifiable Information or Personally Identifiable Information (PII), are information that permits the identification of an individual to whom it applies or is reasonably inferred to apply. Names, addresses and phone numbers are examples of Personal Identifiable Information.

Whenever PressPass is presented to you, it also gives you the option to provide or not your Personal Identifiable Information, along with the purpose for which it will be used and parties to whom it might be disclosed.

We also provide the means to change your choices regarding PII at any time, by visiting and logging in with your existing PressPass credentials. Narratiive partners to whom you consent to share Personal Identifiable Information, must comply with the terms of this policy and are responsible for the governance of the information under their Privacy Policy, as well to applicable laws and regulations.

Data retention period

We will retain your information for no more than 2 years, specifically to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy (refer to “Use of information”) unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by the applicable legislation.

Opt-out and Right to be forgotten (RTBF)

PressPass provides a dedicated interface where you can access, verify and manage their information. Access with your existing PressPass credentials to update your choices at any time.

The changes made will be reflected on browsers and devices where you interacted with PressPass. Please also be aware that by changing your data and information configurations, your experience on the websites and apps you access might be affected in the following ways:

Loss of unobstructed access to certain contents and pages

Less relevant or customized advertising to your preferences

In compliance with existing Data regulations present in several countries, you have certain rights pertaining to your information, in particular, if the terms of GDPR, CCPA or POPIA apply to you as a Data Subject.

PressPass use is not intended for children or individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly solicit, collect, process, or store personal data from children or individuals under the age of 18.
