Tagging your website with Narratiive is quick and easy.

To ensure all traffic is included in your reports, the tag must be added to all content pages of your website. Each time a page is viewed the tag will send a record to Narratiive.

Secure https pages are handled automatically and the tag can be safely included on those pages.

1. Get the tag

Head on over to our Getting the tracking tag article to copy the appropriate tag for your region.

2. Add the tag to your site

ℹ️️️Keep in mind

  • Adding the Narratiive tag to your pages requires a little web development knowledge and understanding of your website configuration.  If you're not comfortable with any of the steps you can share these instructions with your web developer.

The simplest way to add the tag to each page of your site is by using page templates, depending upon which is supported by your content management system.

Tag placement

The tag should be added immediately before the closing </body> tag, towards the end of the HTML code.  The tag must be nested within the body tags to ensure that it will work reliably.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <meta charset="utf-8">
  <title>10 reasons to use a world leading audience measurement, modelling and verification company</title>
</head>
<body>
  <h1>10 reasons to use a world leading audience measurement, modelling and verification company</h1>

  <ol>
    <li>Deep expertise in machine learning and AI modelling</li>
    <li>Wide range of partner data sets</li>
    <li>...</li>
    <li>Comprehensive, single view of audience behaviour</li>
  </ol>

3. Confirm the tag loads correctly

To confirm that a page has been tagged correctly, you should load the page in a browser and view the page source.

The tag should appear exactly as it does in our Getting the tracking tag article.

4. Let us know which domains you've tagged

Send us a message, via the blue chat icon in the bottom right corner of the page, telling us which domains you've added the tag to.  We'll make sure the tag is sending traffic records correctly and let you know if there's any issues.
